C. S. Lewis, Readings for Meditation and Reflection

C.-S.-Lewis-Readings-For-Meditation.jpg

Somehow I am in the mode of rereading. I pulled this lovely book from my shelf and read it again, meditatively and reflectively as the title suggests. Walter Hooper has made delightful selections from Lewis’s broad range of writings. This is a great introduction to Lewis. It is also a way to sound his depths. What a remarkable voice he is, writing at a time when Western culture was slipping further into its secularizing bias, resisting that slide with a clear, thoughtful, honest Christian take on the way things really are. An apologist who never apologizes for what he believes is true. A joyful take on the God of love who anchors the universe. Want to encounter such a God? This little book can point the way forward.
